Unusual Nectar Source Makes MORE Honey Available!

SPECIAL OFFER. I have 6 bottles of freshly extracted 2024 Summer honey. As you can see in this picture this honey is much darker than my spring honey. From Facebook, use link at bottom of this post. Use THIS LINK at AllviewBees.com to order now. Must be picked up before September 10 2024.

Take a look at the above picture. The bottle in the middle contains my Spring honey which is mostly from Tulip Poplar trees. This new honey is darker. I find it to be just as sweet with just a slightly different flavor.

What is the difference? We have a new insect that has entered Maryland in the past couple years. It is the Spotted Lantern Fly. You may have heard of this new resident in the past couple years. You can read all about the Spotted Lantern Fly at many other sites as an invasive threat but there is one good thing about the Spotted Lantern Fly that we Maryland Beekeepers appreciate.

Every summer around the 1st of July Maryland enters a nectar dearth. Most of us have to feed our bees a sugar water mixture in order for them to have enough food to survive the winter. This year we are all surprised by hives that kept filling with honey all through August. This is because the Spotted Lantern Fly damages trees and release some of the sweet sap from the trees. Honeybees have located that sweet sap and brought it home to make honey!

I only have 6 bottles of this to sell. There will be no more honey available from me until July 2025. First come, first served.
